C.W. Schultz posted a cool in-depth video about the production woes of Scream 3 and how the series as a whole has held up. Cool watch...

I just rewatched this and while it still has some elements that work, there are some major problems and the main one being the script. How it rushes through very important moments (opening kill), but it takes the movie about an hour to get Sidney involved in the plot. It also neglects characters that actually could be used in an interesting way (Angelina Tyler is going through what Maureen Prescott went through back then, they should have used that.
And then... there is the horror of the “faxplosion”. Ehren Kruger should have been banned from Hollywood for that scene alone. All the doors are open so the gas would just flow put, also: nobody smells gas so it couldn’t have been enough to cause an explosion, there is absolutely no reason Tom would go back into that house and where is ghostface faxing all of this from???!! This scene still angers me so much.
I’m just gonna skip the knife throwing sequence... but it’s up there with faxplosion.
And about the killer: my friend brought up how much more interesting it would have been to have Mark Kincaid be Sidney’s brother. I never looked at it That way before but I now totally agree with him.
