Hey! I remember you. Can you image that board in today’s PC society? Ha! Hello Nick. How are you? What was your username back then? I think there was a Nick there as well but my memories are fuzzy, I was huffing a lot of glue in those days. Do you ever speak to any of the old guard? Have you seen Scream 4 yet? I used a couple of different usernames back in the day: Nickscreamfan, scream422, Nickmeister, and THRILL0GY (on the Scream boards and PhorumZ). There are a few people I still keep in contact with, but nothing super regular. |

Nice. Do you remember those names I listed? Are you in touch with any of those people? I’d love to catch up with some of them (not Goldmember, who I did not care for).
The moderator was named Morbid Much, I remember. He was very hands off; too hands off really, I should have been banned a dozen times. But I appreciated that small slice of early-aughts anarchy.
Do you remember a forum regular who went by “screenwriter”? He said his real name was Joe King (sounds fake), he apparently lived in LA and said he was going to write films professionally. Said he had deals lined up and everything. What are the odds that guy’s suckin’ pipe to pay his bills now?

I love that every new scream installment ultimately ends in a digital reunion! These messageboards were my life in the late nineties and I sometimes long for those relatively innocent early internet years. If I had a phone with internet back then, I don’t think I would’ve ever have spoken to anyone irl anymore haha 😆 But I also feel an extra wrinkle coming up as I’m typing this  I’m actually currently rewatching all the Screamfilms after probably 10 years and I still discover new things and I’m happy to say I still have so much love for these films! |

Are you in touch with Andwal or anyone else from back then? Nick, did Joe King really get hit by a bus or was that an excellent joke? It has haunted me since you said it. |
